On April 1, 2006, Thomas Keating assumed the position of Fire Chief for the Rescue Fire Protection District. Previously, Chief Keating held the positions of Firefighter, Captain, and Battalion Chief for several different fire agencies throughout California.
Chief Keating is responsible for:
- Analyzing department needs and developing the annual budget
- Developing and implementing department policy
- Appropriately utilizing and preserving districts assets
- Overseeing the implementation of the Strategic Plan
- Serving as Incident Commander for in-district responses
